Section 8: Start-up Sequence

1)
Turn wall switch 'ON'
2)
In 10 seconds the blowers will start.
3)
After 60-70 seconds the glow plug will illuminate.
4)
Glow plug will illuminate for 30 seconds.
5)
If pilot ignition did not occur during steps 3-4 the glow plug will retry steps ..
3-4 after a 25 second pause.
6)
If their is still not pilot ignition after steps 3-4 have been retried, there will be
a 5 minute pre-purge lockout before steps 1 - 4 can be retried.
7).
If pre-purge lockout occurs, turn wall switch 'OFF'. Resume steps 1 - 4 .......
after 5 minute pre-purge lockout has ended.
SETTING THE POWER VENT SPEED FOR THE DOWNDRAFT SYSTEM
A.
With the inside glass removed, remove the burner tray closest to you. The
electrical control panel is right below the burner tray. Remove second panel
and first layer of insulation.
B.
There are 3 relays on the control board. If all 3 LED lights are illuminated within
10 seconds after wall switch is turned on, the speed control is set correctly
C.
If all LED not on after 10 seconds, slowly increase fan rpm by turning dial
counter clockwise. For each step wait 10 seconds before turning again.

Operation
If the information in these instructions is not followed exactly, a fire or explosion may

STARTUP SEQUENCE:
CAUTION
■ This fireplace has been set up at the factory for a determined air volume though the
venting system.
■ This fireplace will not operate unless the correct air movement is detected by our control
system.
■ Please consulted with your contact person at Montigo should you have any problems with
your start up.
Operation
FOR YOUR SAFETY - READ BEFORE LIGHTING:
R324-STIO Indoor Outdoor Ventless Gas Fireplace
WARNING
CAUTION: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO LIGHT THE PILOT WITH A TORCH. IF THE
GLOW PLUG WILL NOT LIGHT YOU MAY HAVE TO INCREASE THE RPM OF
THE POWER VENT MOTOR
Minimum RPM is set at sea level at the factory. Additional RPM may be required
at higher elevations.
BEFORE LIGHTING smell all around the appliance area for gas. Be sure to smell
next to the floor because some gas is heavier than air and will settle on the floor.
What To Do If You Smell Gas:
Do not try to light any appliance.
Do not touch any electrical switch; do not use any phone in your building.
Immediately call your gas supplier from a neighbor's phone. Follow the gas
supplier's instructions.
If you cannot reach your gas supplier, call the Fire Department.
Do not use this appliance if any part has been under water. Immediately call
a qualified service technician to inspect the appliance and to replace any part
of the control system, and any gas control which has been under water.
