Press TUNER.
Tune to the preset station you
want to create an index name
for (page 31).
Press AMP MENU.
Press 4,/,!, repeatedly until
"TUNER" appears, then press

"NAME IN" appears, then press
(_ or..
The cursor flashes and you can select a
character.
Press 4,/,!,to select a character,
then press ./._ to move the
input position backward and
forward.
You can enter up to 8 characters to name
the station.
Tips
• You can select the character type as follows
by pressing t/Ik
Alphabet (upper case) ---+Numbers ---+
Symbols
• To enter a blank space, press .I_ without
selecting a character.
If you enter a wrong character
Press */* until the character to be
changed flashes, then press t.1€" to select
the desired character.

The name you entered is registered.
Note (Europe model only)
When you name an RDS (Radio Data System)
station and tune to that station, the Program Service
name appears instead of the name you entered.
ReceivingRDS
broadcasts
(Europe model only)
This receiver allows you to use Radio Data
System (RDS), which enables radio stations to
send additional information along with the
regular programming signal. This receiver
offers convenient RDS features, such as
Program Service name display.*
* Not all FM stations provide RDS service, nor do
they provide the same type of services. [f you are
not fmniliar with the RDS services in your area,
check with your local radio stations for details.
Simply select a station on the FM
band using Automatic Tuning
(page 30), Direct Tuning (page 30),
or Tuning with Preset Station (page
31).
When you tune to a station that provides RDS
services, the Program Service name appears
on the display panel.
Note
RDS may not work properly if the station you tuned
to is not transmitting the RDS signal or if the signal
strength is weak.
Tip
While a Program Service name is displayed, you can
check the frequency by pressing DISPLAY
repeatedly (page 28).
