Picture Search Options
"II_e most basic way to search during playback is using the FORWAlg) or REVERSE buttons. This
section contains several other options available for searching
a tape.

Speed Search
Speed search allows you to advance or reverse the lape at an increased
speed
by pressing lhe FORWARD or REVERSE button twice. See the speed search
times for each "tape speed. Press PLAY to return to nomqal viewing speed.
Skip Search
Each time you press SFJP-SEARCH during playback the tape advances
30 seconds. You can
press the button up to six times consecutively
to move 180 seconds
(3 minutes) ahead.
Tracking
Your TV/VCR has automatic
tracking which removes streaks and "noise" from the picture.
Automatic tracking is activated when you insert a tape or turn on the VCR. Occasionally
you
may need to manually
adiust tracking, especially if llle tape was recorded
on a different VCR.
Use the T1LACFJNG +/- buttons to remove streaks and noise. You can also use tracking when
pausing a tape to reduce the noise of the stilled picture.
When manually adjusting the picture, automatic
tracking is turned olt'. To turn automatic
tracking back on press the AUTO TRACK button.
Tracking has no effect when recording-
only during playback.
