Lower tile flash where flash photography is prohibited or to capture natural lighting
under dim light. A tripod can be used to prevent blurring when lighting is poor.

If the flash will fire, [] will be displayed when the shutter button is pressed halfway.
At slow shutter speeds, t"" will appear in the display to warn that pictures may be
blurred; use of a tripod is recommended.
The flash may fire several times with each shot. Do not move the camera until
shooting is complete.
The flash may cause vignetting.

The flash is automatically raisedand lowered when the camera
is turned on and off. If the flash is lowered manually when the
camera is on, it will remain slightly open so that it can be acti-
vated by manually returning it to the fully raised position.
When Intelligent FaceDetection (_ 43) and red-eye removal (_ 92)
<_.
are on, red-eye removal is available in auto (..... RED EYEREDUC-
TION) flash on (_>_; FORCEDFLASH),and slow sync (_; REDEYE&
SLOW) modes. Red-eyeremoval minimizes "red-eye" caused when
light from the flash is reflected from the subiect's retinas as shown in
the illustration at right.
