WARRANTY STATEMENT
YOUR WARRANTY RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS
The CaliforniaAir ResourcesBoardand MTDConsumer G roupIncare pleasedto explainthe evaporativeemissioncontrolsystemwarrantyon your2006 lawn
mower.In California,new lawnmowermustbedesigned,builtandequippedto meetthe State'sstringentanti-smogstandards.MTDConsumerGroupIncmust
warrantthe EECSon your lawnmowerfor the periodof time listedbelow p_ovided t herehas been no abuse,neglector impropermaintenance of your lawnmower.
Your EECSmay includepartssuch asthe carburetor, f uel-injectionsystem,the ignitionsystem,catalyticconverter, f uel tanks,fuel lines,fuel caps,valves,
canisters,filters,vaporhoses,clamps,connectors,and otherassociatedemission-related components.
Where a warrantable condition exists, MTDConsumer Group Incwill repair yourlawn mower at no cost toyou includingdiagnosis, parts and labor.
MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY COVERAGE:
This evaporativeemissioncontrolsystemiswarrantedfortwo years. Ifany evaporativeemission-related part on yourequipmentis defective,the part will be
repairedor replacedby MTDConsumerGroupinc.
OWNER'S WARRANTY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As the lawnmowerowner,you are responsible for performance of the requiredmaintenance listedin yourowner'smanual. MTDConsumerGroupIncrecom-
mendsthatyou retainall receiptscoveringmaintenance on your lawnmower,but MTDConsumer G roupInccannotdenywarrantysolelyfor the lackof receipts.
As the lawnmowerowner,you shouldhoweverbe awarethat MTDConsumerGroupIncmay denyyou warrantycoverageif your lawnmoweror a part hasfailed
dueto abuse,neglect,or impropermaintenance or unapprovedmodifications.
Youareresponsiblefor presentingyourlawnmowerto MTDConsumerGroupInc'sdistributioncenteror servicecenteras soonasthe problemexists.The
warrantyrepairsshouldbe completedin a reasonableamountof time,not to exceed30 days. If you havea questionregarding yourwarrantycoverage,you should
contactthe MTDConsumerGroupIncServiceDepartmentat 1-800-800-7310.
GENERAL EMISSIONS WARRANTY COVERAGE:
MTDConsumerGroupIncwarrantsto the ultimatepurchaserandeachsubsequentpurchaserthat the I_n moweris: Designed,builtand equippedso as to
conformwithall applicableregulations;andfree fromdefectsin materialsandworkmanship that causethe failureof awarrantedpart to be identicalinall material
respectsto that part asdescribedin MTDConsumerGroupInc'sapplicationfor certification.
The warrantyperiodbeginsonthe datethe lawn mowerisdeliveredto an ultimatepurchaseror first placedintoservice.The warrantyperiodis twoyears.
Subjectto certain conditionsandexclusionsas statedbelow,the warrantyon emission-related partsis asfollows:
1. Anywarrantedpart that is not scheduledfor replacement a s requiredmaintenance in the writteninstructionssupplied,is warrantedforthe warrantyperiod
statedabove,if the partfailsduringthe periodof warrantycoverage, t he part will be repairedor replacedby MTDConsumerGroupIncaccording to subsection
(4) below.Any suchpart repairedor replacedunderwarrantywill be warrantedfor the remainder o f the period.
2. Anywarrantedpart that is scheduledonlyfor regularinspectioninthe writteninstructionssuppliedis warrantedforthe warrantyperiodstatedabove.Any such
part repairedor replacedunderwarrantywill be warrantedfor the remaining warrantyperiod.
3. Anywarrantedpart that is scheduledfor replacement a s requiredmaintenance in the writteninstructionssuppliedis warrantedfor the periodof time beforethe
first scheduledreplacement d atefor thatpart. ifthe partfails beforethe first scheduledreplacement, t he part will be repairedor replacedby MTDConsumer
GroupIncaccordingto subsection(4) below.Any suchpart repairedor replacedunderwarrantywill be warrantedfor the remainderof the periodprior to the
first scheduledreplacement p ointforthe part.
4. Repairor replacement o f anywarrantedpart underthe warrantyprovisionshereinmustbe performedat a warrantystationat no chargeto the owner.
5. Notwithstanding the provisionsherein,warrantyservicesor repairswill be providedat all of our distributioncentersthatarefranchisedto servicethe subject
enginesor equipment.
6. The lawnmowerownerwill not be chargedfor diagnosticlaborthatis directlyassociatedwith diagnosisof a defective, e mission-related warrantedpart,
providedthat suchdiagnosticwork is performedat a warrantystation.
7. MTDConsumerGroupIncis liablefordamagesto otherengineor equipmentcomponentsproximately causedby afailure underwarrantyof anywarranted
part.
8. Throughout t he lawnmowerwarrantyperiodstated above,MTDConsumerGroupIncwill maintaina supply ofwarrantedparts sufficientto meetthe expected
demandfor such parts.
9. Any replacement p art may be usedinthe performance of any warrantymaintenance or repairsand mustbe provided withoutchargeto the owner.Suchusewill
not reducethe warrantyobligationsof MTDConsumer G roupinc.
10.Add-onor modifiedpartsthatare not exemptedby the Air Resources Boardmay not be used.The useof any non-exempted add-onor modifiedpartsbythe
ultimatepurchaserwill be groundsfor disallowinga warrantyclaims. MTDConsumerGroupIncwill not be liableto warrantfailuresof warrantedpartscaused
bythe use of a non-exempted add-onor modifiedpart.
WARRANTED PARTS:
The repairor replacementof anywarrantedpart otherwiseeligiblefor warrantycoveragemaybe excludedfrom suchwarrantycoverageif MTDConsumer G roup
Incdemonstratesthatthe lawnmowerhas beenabused,negleded,or improperlymaintained,andthat suchabuse, neglect,or impropermaintenance was the
directcauseof the needfor repairor replacement o f the part.That notwithstanding, any adjustmentof a component t hat has afactory installed,and properly
operating,adjustmentlimitingdevice is stilleligiblefor warrantycoverage.The followingemissionwarrantyparts listare covered:FuelLine,FuelLine Clamps
