5. Verify Array Configuration
To ensure that your storage array(s) have been configured correctly, you must verify the array
settings on all arrays attached to your NAS 8000 system.
1.
Connect a laptop with terminal emulation software to the array.
Connect an RS232 null-modem cable to one of the serial ports on the array.

2.
Use a terminal emulator to log in and confirm the array settings. Use the following settings:
—
Bits per second: 9600
—
Data bits: 8
—
Parity: None
—
Stop bits: 1
—
Flow control: None
3.
Press Enter until you see the command prompt. Then execute:
vfpmgr –os linux –c 1
vfpmgr –os linux –c 2
4.
Determine whether the array is connected directly to the NAS server or using a FC switch:
—
If you have one array connected to each NAS server, the array is connected directly to
the NAS server. Execute:
vfpmgr –t 1 –c 1
vfpmgr –t 1 -c 2
—
If you have two arrays connected to each NAS server, the arrays are connected to a FC
switch. Execute:
vfpmgr –t 4 –c 1
vfpmgr –t 4 -c 2
Repeat these steps for each array on your NAS 8000 system.
