VCR Plus Setup
VCR Plus Setup Introduction
The VCR Plus setup is as simple as pressing
the
CH MAP key on the remote control and follow-
ing the on-screen
instructions.
However,
you
must perform the preliminary
setup and be
prepared
to answer or perform the on-screen
in-
structions.
Preliminary
Setup
Certain
VCR options must be selected
to allow
the VCR Plus Setup procedure
to be performed.
1. The cable/converter
box and the location
of the VCR are critical
to VCR Plus record-
ing. The VCR
has a window
through
which
the
codes
are sent
to the cable
box.
This
signal
is sent
out by the VCR
and reflected
off most
surfaces
in such
as way that
the
cable
box will receive
the signal
from
many
different
angles;
the signal
will literally
fill
the room.
For the cable
box to receive
this
signal,
the positions
of the VCR
and the
cable
box are important.
No obstructions
should
be in the path
of the receiving
win-
dow on the cable
box, or in the path
of the
sending
window
on the
VCR.
In other
words,
do not place
any objects
in the sig-
nal path of the VCR or cable box, such as
coffee
cups, ashtrays,
books,
etc.(See
il-
lustration
below.)
Note that the cable/con-
verter
box is located
on the top and at the
front of the VCR. Note that the signal sent
out by the VCR is being
reflected
off the
reflective
surface
or wall and bounced
back
to the cable/converter
box signal receiving
window.
Note that the cable box has tuned
to Channel
59.
