protection features of the camcorder being
activated in such situations. In this case, an
indicator appears on the LCD screen.
Notes on charging through the USB
cable
• Operation with all computers is not assured.
• If you connect the camcorder to a laptop
computer that is not connected to a power
source, the battery of the laptop computer will
continue to use up its charge. Do not leave the
camcorder connected to a computer in this
lnanner.
• Charging with a personally assembled
computer, with a converted computer, or
through a USB hub are not guaranteed.
The camcorder may not function correctly
depending on the USB device which is used
with the computer.
• While the camcorder is connected to your
computer, do not turn on, restart, wake up
fl'om sleep mode, or shut down the computer.
These operations may cause the camcorder to
malflmction. Disconnect the camcorder fl'om
the computer beibre you attempt one of these
operations.
When the camcorder is connected to
a computer or accessories
• Do not try to lbrmat the recording media of the
camcorder using a computer. If you do so, your
camcorder may not operate correctl3c
• When connecting the camcorder to another
device with communication cables, be sure to
insert the connector plug in the correct wa3c
Pushing the plug fbrcibly into the temfinal
will damage the terminal and may result in a
malflmction of the camcorder
• When the camcorder is connected to other
devices through a USB connection and the
power of the camcorder is turned on, do not
close the LCD panel. The image data that has
been recorded may be lost.
Notes on optional accessories
• We recommend using genuine So W accessories.
• Genuine So W accessories may not be available
in some countries/regions.
LCD screen
• Do not apply excessive pressure on the LCD
screen, as it may cause uneven color and other
damage.
• If your camcorder is used in a cold place, a
residual image may appear on the LCD screen.
This is not a malfunction.
• While using your camcorder, the back of
the LCD screen may heat up. This is not a
malfunction.
On handling the casing
• If the casing is soiled, clean the camcorder body
with a soft cloth lightly moistened with water,
and then wipe the casing with a dry soil cloth.
• Avoid the lbllowing to avoid damage to the
finish:
- Using chemicals such as thinner, benzene,
alcohol, chemical cloths, repellent, insecticide
and sunscreen
- Handling the camcorder with above
substances on your hands
- Leaving the casing in contact with rubber or
vinyl objects fbr a long period of time
On handing the LCD screen and the
light-emitting part of flash
If fingerprints or dust make dirty, it is
recommended that you use a soft cloth to
clean it.
