Adjusting
the Flash
Exposure
Compensation
The flash will fire and when =_= appears,
the flash output will be retained.
If you release
your finger from the shutter
button and press the []
button
again,
-X=
will disappear
and FE will unlock.

and FE will unlock.
Just as with exposure
compensation
(p. 75), you can adjust the exposure
from -2 to +2 stops
in 1/3-stop
increments
when using the flash.
Choose _J;_.
After pressing

button,

Av
buttons
to choose
L_J.
Choose the amount of flash
exposure
compensation.
Press the _ _' buttons
or turn the _._i dial to
choose
the amount
of flash
exposure
compensation,
then press the @
button.
Once set, _
will appear
on the screen.
The camera automatically changes the shutter speed or aperture value when the flash
fires to avoid overexposing and blowing out the highlights in the scene. However, if you
press the MEN U button to display the _
tab and set [Safety FE] in [Flash Settings] to
[Off], the shutter speed and aperture value will not automatically adjust.
