Engine braking

The automatic transmission automatically
selects the driving programme with
optimal engine braking effect.
As needed, lower gears can also be
selected in manual mode to increase
engine braking effect. 1st gear has the
greatest braking effect.

"Rocking" the car

If it becomes necessary to rock the vehicle
to free it from sand, mud, snow or a hole,
move the selector lever from D to R in a
repeat pattern while simultaneously
applying light pressure to the accelerator
pedal. Do not race the engine and avoid
sudden acceleration.
This applies only to the exceptional
circumstances mentioned above.
