PARKING
BRAKE
LEVER
Toset the parkingbrake: Fullydepressthe brakepedal. Movethe
parkingbrakeleverintothe parkingbrakeposition.Releasethe brake
pedalto allowthe parkingbraketo engage.
To release the parkingbrake: Depressthe brakepedaland the park-
ingbrakeleverwill moveoutof the parkingbrakepositionon its own.
Theparkingbrakewillthen be released.Releasethe brakepedal.
NOTE: The parkingbrakemustbe set if the operatorleavesthe seat
with the enginerunningor the enginewill automatically shut off.
THROTTLE/CHOKE
CONTROL
LEVER
Thethrottle/chokecontrolleveris
locatedon the right sideof the trac-
tor'sdash panel.This levercontrols
the speedof the engineand when
pushedall theway forward,the
chokecontrolalso. Whenset in
a givenposition,thethrottlewill
maintaina uniformenginespeed.
IMPORTANT: Whenoperating
the tractorwith the cuttingdeck
engaged,thethrottle/chokecontrol
levermustalwaysbe in the FAST
(rabbit)position.
IGNITION
SWITCH
Thekey switch moduleisusedto
startand stopthe engine.Insert
key intothe key switchmodule
and turnclockwiseto theSTART
position.Releasethe keyintothe
normalmowingpositiononceen-
gine hasstarted.The headlights
will be activatedautomatically.
Tostop the engine,turnthe
ignition keycounterclockwise to
the STOPposition.

Neverleavea runningmachineunattended. AlwaysdisengagePTO
(BladeEngageLever),moveshiftleverintoneutralposition,setpark-
ingbrake,stopengineand remove keyto prevent u nintended starting.
SEAT ADJUSTMENT
LEVER
Theseat adjustmentleveris locatedbelowthe front/leftof the seat.The
leverallowsfor adjustment o f the foreand aft positionof the seat.Refer
to theAssemblysectionof themanual formoredetailedinstructions for
adjustingthe seat position.
AUTO-DRIVE
PEDAL
The drivepedal islocatedon the rightside of the tractor,along the
runningboard.Depressthe drivepedalforwardand the tractorwill
movein the directionthat the shiftleveris engagedin. Tocausethe
tractorto travelforward,whileat a completestop,movethe shift lever
intothe Forwardposition.Graduallystep on the drivepedal and the
tractorwill beginto moveforward.Tomovein Reverse, f ollow the same
procedureonlymove theshift leverintothe reverseposition.
The groundspeediscontrolledwith the drivepedal.Thefurther
forwardthat the pedal is pivoted,thefasterthe tractorwill travel.
The pedalwill returnto its originalpositionwhenit'snot depressed.
Referto the Operationsectionof this manualfor detailedinstructions
regardingthedrive pedal.
IMPORTANT= Alwaysset the parkingbrakewhenleavingthe tractor
unattended.
DECK LIFT LEVER
Foundon your tractor'srightfender,the deck lift leveris used
to changethe heightof the cuttingdeck.To use, movethe
leverto the left, thenplacein the notch bestsuitedfor your
application.
PTO (BLADE
ENGAGE)
LEVER
Foundon the tractor'srightfender,the PTO(bladeengage)
leveris usedto engagepowerto the cuttingdeck or other
(separatelyavailable)attachments.Tooperate,movethe
leverall theway forward.Movingthe leverall the way
rearwardintothe PTOOFFpositiondisengagespowerto the
cuttingdeck/attachment.
NOTE=The PTO(bladeengage)levermustbe in the
disengaged(PTOOFF)positionwhenstartingthe engine.
CUP HOLDER
The tractor'scup holderis locatedon the fenderto the left of
the seat.
SHIFT LEVER
The shift leveris locatedon the left
sideof the fenderand hasthree
positions,FORWARD, N EUTRAL
and REVERSE. T he brakepedal
mustbe depressedand the tractor
mustnotbe in motionwhenthe
movingshift lever.
IMPORTANT: Neverforce the
shiftlever.Doingso may resultin
seriousdamageto the tractor's
transmission.
