motor drive transmission

the logic board.
The pick-up roller sensor is faulty.
The MPU and printer controller are faulty.
<Cause>
The home position of the pick-up roller cannot be
detected.
<Suspected Parts>
Remove the sheet feeder unit, then manually rotate the
drive gear fully to check to see if the parts such as
the pick-up roller operate smoothly.

Repair/Replace
the sheet feeder unit.
With your eyes, check the appearance and movement of
the paper feed roller, which is the drive transmission section
of the paper feed motor, and the gear which is located on the
drive switching mechanism.
At the same time, check to see if the slide lock lever which
locks the drive switching section operates smoothly. See Part 4
"3.4.2 Paper Feed Motor Drive Switching Section" on page 4-29.
