5-1-3 Configuring Marvell 9128 SATA Controller

A. Installing SATA hard drive(s) in your computer
Attach one end of the SATA signal cable to the rear of the SATA hard drive and the other end to available
SATA port on the motherboard. The Marvell 9128 SATA controller controls the GSATA3_6/7 ports on the
motherboard. Then connect the power connector from your power supply to the hard drive.
B. Configuring SATA controller and RAID mode in BIOS Setup
Make sure to configure the SATA controller mode correctly in system BIOS Setup.
Step 1:
Turn on your computer and press <Delete> to enter BIOS Setup during the POST (Power-On Self-Test).
Make sure GSATA Controller under the Integrated Peripherals menu is enabled. Then set GSATA Ctrl
Mode to IDE or AHCI, depending on your requirements (Figure 1). (In AHCI mode, installation of the SATA
AHCI driver is required during Windows XP installation. Refer to section, "5-1-4" for more information.)
Step 2:
To create a RAID array, press <Enter> on the GSATA RAID Configuration item (Figure 1) to enter the RAID
configuration menu. Skip this step if you do not want to create RAID.
