Spark Arrester Maintenance
B If the engine has been running, the muffler will be very hot.
Allow it
to cool before proceeding.
CAUTION: The spark arrester must be serviced every 100 hours to maintain its
efficiency.
1. Remove the eight 5mm pan screws, and remove the muffler protectors.
2. Remove the 4mm pan screw, and remove the spark arrester from the muffler.

3. Use a brush to remove carbon deposits from the spark arrester screen.
Inspect the screen for breaks or tears, and replace it If necessary.

4. Reinstall the spark arrester and muffer protectors in the reverse order of disassembly.
