2.3.5 IDE Configuration

The items in this menu allows you to change the settings for the IDE devices
installed in the system. Select an item then press Enter if you wish to configure the
item.

Enhanced Mode Support On
IDE Detect Time Out (Sec)
Onboard IDE Operate Mode [Enhanced Mode]
Allows selection of the IDE operation mode depending on the operating system
(OS) that you installed. Set to Enhanced Mode if you are using native OS, such as
Windows 2000/XP. Set to Compatible Mode if you are using legacy OS including
MS-DOS, Windows ME/98/NT4.0.
Configuration options: [Compatible Mode] [Enhanced Mode]
Refer to the section "Parallel ATA and Serial ATA device configurations" on page
1-23 for the appropriate settings of the IDE Configuration items under different
operating systems.
