About scanning Office documents
To add a signature to the Signature Exclusions
1 In the Norton AntiVirus main window, click
Settings.
2 In the Settings window, in the left pane, click
AntiVirus and SONAR Exclusions.
3 In the Signatures to Exclude from All Detections
row, click Configure.
4 In the Signature Exclusions window, click Add.
5 In the Security Risks window, click on a security
risk that you want to exclude and then click Add.
6 In the Signature Exclusions window, click Apply,
and then click OK.
7 In the Settings window, click OK.
Norton AntiVirus protects all Office documents that
you receive through email messages, through Internet
download, and through inserted floppy disks or other
removable media. By automatically scanning all Office
files, Norton AntiVirus maintains a higher level of
security. Norton AntiVirus scans the Office document
when you open them.
You can use the Microsoft Office Automatic Scan
option in the Settings window to scan documents of
the following Microsoft Office applications:
winword.exe
excel.exe
powerpnt.exe
visio.exe
msaccess.exe
