Installing the CPU heatsink and fan assembly

The AMD
Opteron™ 4100 series processors require a specially designed heatsink
®
and fan assembly to ensure optimum thermal condition and performance.
To install the CPU heatsink and fan assembly:
1.
Ensure that the retension module base is installed on the motherboard. Refer
to the previous section for the retension module installation.
2.
Place the heatsink and fan assembly on top of the installed CPU, ensuring
that the heatsink fits properly on the retention module base.
If you purchased a separate CPU heatsink and fan assembly, ensure that a
Thermal Interface Material is properly applied to the CPU heatsink or CPU
before you install the heatsink and fan assembly.
