Reliability, availability, and serviceability

Three important computer design features are reliability, availability, and
serviceability (RAS). The RAS features help to ensure the integrity of the data that
is stored in your server, the availability of the computer when you need it, and the
ease with which you can diagnose and repair problems.
Your server has the following RAS features:
v 3-year warranty
v Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI)
v Alert Standard Format (ASF)
v Automatic restart after a power failure
v BIOS code boot-block recovery
v ROM-based diagnostic programs
v Chipkill memory protection
v Cooling fans with speed-sensing capability
v Customer support center 24 hours per day, 7 days a week
v Cyclic redundancy check (CRC) SCSI data bus
v Diagnostic support of Ethernet adapters and RAID adapters
v Double-data-rate synchronous dynamic RAM (DDR SDRAM) with serial presence
v Error checking and correcting (ECC) memory
v Error codes and messages
v Failover Ethernet support
v Hot-swap drive bays (some models)
v Integrated System Management Processor (ISMP)
v Light Path Diagnostics feature on the system board
v Menu-driven setup, system configuration, RAID configuration, and diagnostic
v Microprocessor built-in self-test (BIST)
v Monitoring support for temperatures, voltages, and fan speed
v Nonmaskable interrupt (NMI) button
v Peripheral component interconnect (PCI) bus parity
v Power-on self-test (POST)
v Predictive Failure Analysis
v Processor serial number access
v Read-only memory (ROM) checksums
v Redundant Ethernet capabilities
v Remote system problem-analysis support
v System error logging
v Upgradeable basic input/output system (BIOS), diagnostics, POST, and ISM
v Vital product data (VPD), including serial-number information and replacement
v Wake on LAN capability
