Setting Up Your
Satellite Receiver
Professional installation of the satellite dish antenna is strongly recommended. This is
recommended to help ensure your personal safety, compliance with electrical codes, and
compliance with all specifications. The proper installation and aiming of the dish antenna is
critical for proper operation. To arrange professional installation, please contact your dealer.
This chapter provides step-by-step instructions for setting up your HD system and connecting it
to your television or entertainment system.
The carton includes the DST-3000 receiver with DIRECTV PLUS™ receiver built-in, an access
card (already installed in the DST-3000 receiver behind the door), an IR remote control (batteries
included), cables, and this Owner's Manual.
You now need to decide where you want to place the DST-3000 receiver. Choose a location near
your TV where the power cord or cables will not be inadvertently disconnected.
