    Requirements To access FireWire ® or USB 2.0 speeds, the computer system must be FireWire ® and/or Hi-Speed USB 2.0 enabled. The ® ® Tri-Select ION™ Drive will work at FireWire 400 and/or USB 1.1 speeds with FireWire enabled and USB 2.0 and/or USB 1.1 enabled computers.

    Make sure the drive is turned on before you start-up your computer. Make sure your new IOGEAR® ION™ Drive is the only device hooked into the FireWire® USB 2.0 port. Do not use a hub or repeater in connecting your drive to the computer.

    Appendix Glossary Cache - High-speed Random Access Memory (RAM) used as a buffer between the CPU and a hard drive. The cache retains recently accessed information to speed up subsequent accesses to the same data. When data is read from or written to disk, a copy is saved in the cache along with the associated disk address.
