3 Attach the other end of the SCSI cable to one of the SCSI connectors on the
rear panel of the tape drive. (See figure 1.4.) Snap both of the retaining
clips over the connector to secure it firmly in place.
Note HP SureStore DAT40 drives use screw-in connectors. Tighten the screws
to secure the connector.
4 If you have an HP SureStore DAT40 drive, connect the multi-mode
terminator to the drive's other SCSI connector and tighten the screws to
secure it. The multi-mode terminator detects whether the host bus adapter
is SE or LVD and automatically provides the appropriate termination.
For all other tape drives, make sure that the supplied terminator is firmly
attached to the drive's other SCSI connector.

Note If you want to attach additional devices to the SCSI bus after the tape
drive, you will need to remove the SCSI terminator and attach the next
device to this SCSI connector. Make sure that you attach the terminator to
the last device in the chain.
