A thin flexible platter coated with a magnetic material for storing
information.
diskette drive
A magnetic drive that writes on and retrieves data from a diskette.
digital audio
Recorded sounds such as speech and sound effects. These are
played back by the sound card's Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC).
digital sound
A description of a sound wave that consists of binary numbers.
digitizing
The process of converting an analog signal into a digital represen-
tation.
DSTN
Double-Scan Super-Twisted Nematic. A type of technology used in
some Versa LCD screen displays.
enhanced VGA
A video interface that offers more colors or higher resolution than
VGA.
