    The UltraCare service program is designed to keep downtime to a minimum, pro- tect the user’s notebook investment and promote optimum system performance. The NEC Versa LX and Versa SX come with a three-year return-to-factory limited warranty on all parts and labor. This warranty, called UltraCare Essential service, provides in the U.S.

    • When the next generation of NEC Versa notebooks arrives, the existing accessories can still be used. All the accessories available for the NEC Versa LX and Versa SX are listed on page 9. Here’s a rundown on some of the major ones. VersaBay III Paks are described on page 4.

    This option for the NEC Versa SX allows users to access the 1.44MB diskette drive while another device is in the VersaBay III slot. The NEC Versa LX comes with a 1.44MB diskette drive or SuperDisk LS-120 drive pre-installed internally (i.e., not in the VersaBay III slot) and, therefore, does not require this kit.

    Do you have to turn off the NEC Versa LX or Versa SX to replace the battery? No, just put it in suspend mode. Each notebook has an internal bridge battery that acts as a safety net for easy battery swapping.

    FN F7 key between Longest Battery Life, Highest Performance, Custom and Off. Power management lets the user direct the NEC Versa LX or Versa SX to go into suspend mode automatically after a preset time of system inactivity or to manually put the system in suspend mode through the suspend key.
