Serial Port (COM 1)
The 9-pin serial port provides a serial interface to which you can connect an RS-232C de-
vice such as external serial pointing device or modem. This port is commonly referred to as
COM1.

Battery Module Handle and Lock
To release the battery module from its compartment, push forward the battery compartment
latch as indicated by the arrow mark on it. While doing this, hold the handle of the battery
module and pull it out from its compartment.
NOTE: First power off the system before con-
necting an external serial mouse. After turning on
the power again, run the BIOS SETUP program
and disable the Trackball.
