NOTE
This vehicle is fitted with front and
rear disc brakes. Each braking system is
operated by an independent hydraulic circuit.
The information provided below applies to
both braking systems.
Brake fluid level decreases gradually as the
brake pads wear down.
The brake reservoirs are placed under the
handlebar cover, near the brake lever
connections.
Check brake fluid level in the reservoirs at
regular intervals - see (CHECKING BRAKE
FLUID LEVEL) at the side - and inspection
the brake pads periodically for wear, see
page 48 (CHECKING THE BRAKE PADS FOR

CHECKING BRAKE FLUID LEVEL

Check level as follows:
NOTE
Place the vehicle on firm, level
ground.
Place the vehicle on the centre stand.
Turn the handlebar. The fluid in the reservoir
must be parallel with the "MIN" mark on
the sight glass (1).
Ensure that fluid level in the reservoir is
above the "MIN" mark on the sight glass (1).
MIN = minimum level.
WARNING
Do not ride when brake fluid level is below
the "MIN" mark.
WARNING
Brake fluid level decreases gradually as
the brake pads wear down.
Check the brake pads and brake disc for
wear, see page 48 (CHECKING THE BRAKE
PADS FOR WEAR).
If the brake pads and/or the brake disc are
in good condition:
Contact an aprilia Official Dealer and have
brake fluid level topped up.
WARNING
Check braking efficiency.
When the brake lever has exceeding travel
or if you notice a loss of braking, contact
an aprilia Official Dealer. The braking
