Speaker installation/connection (Other than 7.1-channel system with surround back speakers)

This section explains a wide range of speaker installation/connection/setting procedures.
For details on installing/connecting/setting 7.1 channel audio that uses surround back speakers, see "Simple version (Simple setup guide)" (vpage 3).
Use the Audyssey ® Auto Setup function of this unit to automatically detect the number of connected speakers and perform optimal settings for the speakers to
be used.
Procedure for speaker settings

Install

Set up speakers (vpage 37)

This unit is compatible with Dolby Pro Logic gz (vpage 78),
which offers an even wider and deeper surround sensation.
When using Dolby Pro Logic gz, install front height speakers.
Install the surround back speakers in a position 2 to 3 ft (60 to 90 cm)
higher than ear level.
