5-1. Troubleshooting

Symptoms
Set does not play
normally.
MP3 player will not
turn on.
The MP3 p layer
shuts down during
normal operation.
N o so u n d from
earphones.
Sound skips or
is distorted.
Causes
Battery is weak (it may test
OK on tester but it is weak
for MP3 operation).
The file type is not supported
on this MP3 player.
The MP3 player software is
lost or damaged.
Dead or weak battery.
Lock button is on.
The external SD/MMC card
will need more battery current
to boot.
Battery is weak.
Volume control is too low.
Weak battery.
Music was not copied correctly. Re-copy the music using a slower speed.
The MP3/WMA file may be
corrupted or damaged.
Replace battery with a fresh alkaline
battery. Battery life with a fresh
battery i s about 8 hours for
continuous play ( r e c h a r g e a b l e
battery has 1/2 of that life).
This MP3 player can only play MP3
and WMA files. You can't play AAC
files or WMA files downloaded from
protected online stores.
Upgrade the firmware (see page 9).
Replace battery with fresh one.
Slide the lock button to off.
Replace battery with fresh one.

Increase the volume by pressing
VOLUME +.
Replace with a fresh battery.
Download or create the MP3/WMA
file again. Be sure to create WMA
file with no copy protection.
