Installing Mass Storage Devices

Installing Mass Storage Devices
If you need extra mass storage space for your application software, you
can install additional mass storage devices.
The computer has two internal shelves (for hard disk drives) and two
front-access drive shelves (for front-access drives).
Your computer is supplied with a 3.5-inch floppy disk drive and a CD-
ROM drive. If your computer is supplied with a hard disk, the hard disk
will be installed in the top internal shelf.

Connecting Devices

If you add an IDE Zip drive, hard disk drive, CD-ROM drive, CD-RW
drive, or tape drive, you need to connect it to power and data cables.
The data cables and connectors provided are shown below:
40-pin connectors
Two IDE data cables each with
two 40-pin connectors for IDE
Drives, such as CD-ROM Drives,
Zip Drives or Hard Disk Drives.

Cable with one connector for
3.5-inch Floppy Disk Drive
On selected models, a 16-bit
SCSI cable with four 68-pin
connectors.
