Creating an Emergency Repair Disk

During the initialization of your software, it is very important that you
create an Emergency Repair Disk for the operating system when
prompted. HP recommends that you use new diskettes for this
purpose.

Starting Your PC Workstation

1 Before you start your PC Workstation, first switch on the display.
2 Start your PC Workstation in one of these ways:
Press the power button on the front panel.
Press the keyboard space bar.
The keyboard power-on feature will work only if
enabled in the
Power
90) and the system board switch 8 (KEYB power) is DOWN (the
default setting). Refer to page 88 for more information on system
board switches.
When you switch on the computer, it carries out the Power-On-Self-
Test (POST) while the PC Workstation's logo is displayed. If you
want to view the POST details, press
Screen. If there is an error in the POST, the error will automatically
be displayed. If this happens, refer to "If a POST Error Message is
Displayed" on page 55.
