Steam wand

Every week, the machine gives a reminder to clean the steam wand thor-
oughly and indicates the correct cleaning sequence: this operation will
ensure optimum results over time. Proceed as follows:
1. Wait for the steam wand to cool down;
2. Turn the cappuccino maker anticlockwise and pull downwards (fig.
46);
3. Shift the black ring upwards at least 1 cm (fig. 47);
4. Remove the nozzle, pulling downwards (fig. 48),
5. Wash in a dishwasher (recommended) or by hand, as indicated below:
In a dishwasher: Rinse all components with hot running water (at
least 40°C), then place them in the top basket of the dishwasher and
run a programme at 50 °C, e.g. Eco standard.
By hand: Rinse all components carefully with hot running water (at
least 40°C) to ensure that all visible residues are removed: make sure
the water passes through the holes (fig. 49). Next, immerse all compo-
nents in a solution of hot drinking water (at least 40° C) and washing
up liquid for at least 30 minutes. Rinse all components thoroughly
with hot drinking water, rubbing them individually between fingers
and thumbs.
6. Check that no milk residues are left in the holes. If necessary, scrape
with a toothpick.
7. Dry the components with a clean dry cloth;
8. Reassemble the steam wand.
