Increasing or reducing the speed
To increase the stored speed: swipe upwards
#
from the bottom of control panel 1.
The stored speed is increased by 1 mph
R
(1 km/h).
To reduce the stored speed: swipe downwards
#
from the top of control panel 1.
The stored speed is reduced by 1 mph
R
(1 km/h).
or
Briefly press M on the upper section or
#
N on the lower section of control panel
1.
The stored speed is increased or reduced by
5 mph (10 km/h).
or
Accelerate the vehicle to the desired speed.

Press M on the upper section of control

panel 1.
Adopting the limit speed shown on the driver's
display
To activate Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC:
#
press M, N or J.
To adopt the displayed speed limit: press
#
J.
The limit speed displayed on the driver's dis-
play is adopted as the stored speed. The vehi-
cle adapts its speed to that of the vehicle in
front, but only up to the stored speed, or limits
its speed accordingly.

A speed limit shown on the driver's display is
only adopted while driving, not when station-
ary.
Pulling away with Active Distance Assist
DISTRONIC
Activate Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC
#
and remove your foot from the brake pedal.
Press J.

Depress the accelerator pedal briefly and
#
firmly.
The functions of Active Distance Assist
DISTRONIC continue to be carried out.
Increasing or reducing the specified distance from
the vehicle in front
Press K.
#
The h display appears. The specified dis-
tance is reduced by one level.
If the lowest level is already selected, the
selection jumps to the highest level.
Deactivating Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC
& WARNING Risk of an accident due to
Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC being
active when you leave the driver's seat
If you leave the driver's seat while the vehicle
is being braked by Active Distance Assist
DISTRONIC only, the vehicle can roll away.
Always deactivate Active Distance Assist
#
DISTRONIC and secure the vehicle to
prevent it from rolling away before you
leave the driver's seat.
