8.2.7 Head Drive Block
This block consists of QA301, 302, Q6, Q7, Q8, Q9 and Q11. QA301, 302 and Q301 control each pin and
Q6 —9 and Q11 control the power supplied to the printhead.
The CPU sets the data to be printed into HD1—9 of IC9 (Gate Array). Then the CPU sets the printing pulse
and triggers PC6 terminal of IC8. By the printing pulse, the head pin solenoids are driven by QA401, 402,
and Q301 accordingly.
The power supplied to the printhead is controlled by HDTY through Q6 and Q7.
And the power supplied to the printhead is restricted by the output of HDTY in the Gate Array.
Posistor is attached in the printhead and is used for detecting overheat of printhead in directly.
