3.2 Function Mode
The function mode is selected by pressing the FUNCTION switch. The ON LINE indicator blinks when in the
function mode.
When the function is selected, the SET switch enters the function. The COLUMN indicator
blinks to show the position of the function, and when SET is pressed, the column indicator lights continuously.
The following functions are selected by using the ROW and COLUMN switches.

Note: e PGM (Program) overrides software commands sent to the printer.
e The quiet mode can only be set (COLUMN Indicator is lit) and released (blinking) by repeatedly
pressing the SET switch.
3.2.2 Paper Cut

The SET switch in Function mode allows tearing continuous paper off at the perforation.
When pressed
once, the paper advances above the plastic cover for easy paper separation.
If SET or FUNCTION switch
is then pressed, the paper moves back to the previous position.
3.2.3 Memo Load
The memo load function enables printing on single sheets of paper or envelopes without removing continuous
paper. The operating procedure is explained below:
1. Tear off the continuous paper at the perforation.

Press the FUNCTION switch and the ON LINE indicator starts blinking.
Pull the bail lever switch. The carriage moves to the center of the platen, and continuous paper
automatically moves back to the tractor feeder. Next the ON LINE indicator stops blinking.
. Position the paper feed selector to "F".
. Load a single sheet of paper or envelope by pulling the bail lever and then press the FUNCTION
switch.
. After printing is completed, press the FF switch to remove the paper, and then reposition the
paper feed selector to 'T".
7. Pull the bail lever. The continuous paper returns to the printing line.
Note: Memo load only functions correctly when the paper is fed by push feed in the 'T" position.
