2. Firmly grip the antenna base and screw into base in clockwise motion. Must screw in easily. See
Figure 4-2.
3. Tighten enough so that antenna does not loosen from base, approximately 2.5 in.lb. Do not
overtighten.

Additional Test Equipment

The following equipment is useful when testing an i530 unit: a reference unit, a reference SIM card,
and reference accessories. For a list of recommended test and programming equipment used to
troubleshoot the i530 unit, see Appendix A: Ordering Replacement Parts and Kits.
4.3.1

Reference Unit

Use a reference unit (i530 unit known to be in good working order) to verify the accuracy of some tests.
You may want to set the Auto Answer Settings Menu setting so that the reference unit automatically
answers incoming calls for testing purposes.

Reference Accessories

Use reference accessories (accessories known to be in good working order) to verify the accuracy of
some tests.
