The Power-On Self Test (POST) runs (about 30
seconds) each time system unit power is
switched on.
An indication of the memory test appears in the
upper-left corner of the screen and the number
continues to increase until the message
XXXXX
K bytes OK
appears momentarily.
Note: XXXXX must be at least
640.
One short beep is heard when the test is
complete.
If
POST fails, follow the instructions in
"SECTION 7. POWER-ON SELF TEST" in
the IBM Installation and Setup-Personal
Computer AT manual.
