Press the PTT switch of the microphone, or set the standby
switch to SEND. Adjust the RF PWR control so that the
meter pointer deflects to 4 W.
NOTE:
While the protection circuit is activating due to poor
antenna VSWR, turning the RF PWR control to the max-
imum may not provide 10 W meter reading. In such a
case, check the antenna VSWR. If it is poor, correct
before transmitting.
Speak into the microphone and adjust the MIC gain control
so that the RF PWR meter reading does not exceed 8 W at
voice peaks.
NOTE:
In FM mode, the MIC control is not used.
