(10) Pincushion correction.
As the screen is not a sperical surface, the beam path becomes longer at the corners of screen, and the
deflection gets bigger.
In order to correct this pincushion distortion, T402 and the associated circuit are provided. The pincushion
transformer (1402) is in series with the vertical defection coils to modify the scanning with a waveform that
compensates for the top and bottom pincushion distortion of raster, and also that provides vertical
scan—
ning signal to the left and right pincushion distortion.
The vertical output current is integrated by R315 and C355 so that parabolic current which is synchronized
with the vertical frequency can be generated. As the parabolic current corrects the
horizontal frequency,
less horizontal deflection at the beginning and end of vertical period and more horizontal defiection at the
center of vertical period can be performed.
