3) SCV connection
~ The way the unit is connected is dependent
on the type of vehicle.
Information
about this can
be obtained
from your dealer; see also "Note on SCV
connection".
Note on SCV connection
The SCV
requires a speed-dependent
signal
which is already present on cars fitted with an
electronic
speedometer,
computer,
automatic
speed control, etc.
Normally, this signal can be picked up at the rear
of the speedometer. If your car is not yet equip-
ped with an impulse generator, it is possible in
most cases to additionally fit such a generator.
To find out whether your vehicle is suitable for the
SCV connection, consult your dealer.
Your unit is suited for the connection of all types
of impulse generators.
The SCV should be connected with the SCV lead
supplied. If your vehicle has already been fitted
with an impulse generator, and this is electrically -
éonnected to chassis, you will only have to inter-
connect the signal-carrying lead with the SCV
connection.
Important
If the vehicle is is provided with an impulse
generator and this is used for other functions, en-
sure that the signal carrying impulse generator
lead is not short-circuited against the vehicle
chassis when making the SCV connection.
