Air Requirements

Refer to the generator set specification sheet for cooling
and combustion air requirements.
The generator set is available with a unit-mounted
radiator cooling system or with a remote radiator setup.
Refer to Sections 3.2 and 3.3 for additional installation
recommendations to provide adequate air flow for each
system.

3.2.1

System Features

The
system's
engine-driven fan and circulating water pump, a
radiator, and a thermostat. The pump circulates water
through the engine until it
temperature. Then the engine thermostat opens,
allowing water circulation through the radiator. The
thermostat restricts water flow as necessary to prevent
overcooling. The fan blows air from the engine side of
the radiator across the cooling surface.
Enclosed units use the unit-mounted radiator and
TP-5700-4
cooling fan. Enclosed units are designed for outdoor
installation.

Installation Considerations

Figure 3-5 shows a typical unit-mounted radiator
installation. Note the direction of airflow and refer to the
figure as needed during installation.
