Parking Brake Lever
Parking brake
force
is
mechanically
trans-
ferred to the rear wheels
by means
of cables.
Use
the
parking
brake
only after
the
vehicle
has
come to
a
Iull
slop.
To
set the parking brake,
r
pull
the
lever
all the
way
up
(see arrow).
Wrth
the
ignitron on. Ihe
orake warning
light
will
come
on
if
the
lever
is
even
slighlly rarsed
A
firrr pult
upward
is
re-
quired
to
property engage
the
parking
brake.
To release
the
parking brake,
r
pull the
lever
slightly up
as you
depress
the
release
button,
and
then
push
the
lev,
er all
the
way down.

The brake
warning light on the
dashboard
will
go out after the engine
is
started
and
the
parking
brake
is
fully
released.
Brakes
Functioning
ol
brake system
Your
Porsche
is equipped
with
a power
as-
sisted hydraulic dual
circuit
brake
system
with disc
brakes
at
the
front
and at
the
rear.
Both circuits
function
independenfly.
One
brake
circuit
operates
the front and
the
other the
rear
axle.
ln
the
unlikely event
ol
hydraulic
failure ol
one circuit,
push
the brake pedal
down
firmly and hold
it in
that
position.
A
mechanical linkage activates
the
second
circuit, and
you will be
able
to b.ing
the
vehicle
to
a stop.
lf
one
brake
circuit
has
failed, the other will
still
operate. However,
you
will
notice
an
increased pedal travet when you step on
the
brake.
Should you
encounter such
experi-
ence,
bring
your vehicle safely
to
a
full
stop.
Avold driving the vehicle and instead
have
it
towed
to ihe
nearest autholized porsche
dealer.
