If
a
total
of
six stations
cannot be tuned
af-
ter scanning
operations,
the
letter A
will
be
displayed
on
the
indicator.
Press and
release
the AUTO M
to
recall
pres-
ent
stations from
the auto
memory.
One
preset station will be selected with each
press.
CASSETTE TAPE PLAYER OPERATION
Insert
the
cassette
th
rough the
cassette slot,
open-edge to the
right to
play. This
automat-
ically
switches
th
e
unit
from radio/compact
disc
to
tape
operation.
TAPE will
be dis-
played.
At the end of
the tape, the
unit will
automatically
reverse the tape play.
When
the upper
triangle
(
_..
) in
the display
is
lit,
the
top side of the tape
is being
played.
When the
lower
triangle
(T
)
is lit,
the
bottom
side
of
the
tape is being
played.
NOTE
When
Metal
or Chrome
equivalent
tape
is
in-
serted,
the
player
will
automatically adapt to
it
and
METAL
will
be displayed.
Cassette Player Protection
To prevent
possible
damage
to
the
cassette
player if
a damaged or
excessively tight tape
is inserted, the cassette
will
be
ejected
and
the
TAPE indicator
will
flash.
If
the
cassette
cannot
be
ejected,
the tape
player will
go to
the
pause
mode.
If
operation of
the
unit
is
not
normal,
contact
your
Authorized
Mazda
Dealer.
Never at-
tempt
to
repair
the
unit
or
insert
a screw-
driver,
etc.,
to
remove
a
stuck
cassette
.

13. TAPE PLAY/STOP
(Type B)
To
stop
tape play during playback
without
ejecting
the tape, press STOP/EJECT.
The
tape
will
be
in
a
pause mode.
By
pressing
the PRO/PLAY
button
,
tape play
restarts.
To
listen to
the
tape
directly from radio
or com-
pact
disc
mode
w
hile the
tape is inserted
,
press
PRO/PLAY.
(Type
C)
To stop
tape
play
du ring playback with out
ejecting the
tape,
press TAPE.
The tape
will
be
in
a pause
mode. The
unit
will
not shift
to radio
or compact
disc mode.
By
press-
ing
the
button
again, tape play restarts. To
listen
to
the tape directly from
rad io
or
com-
p
act
disc mode while
the
tape
is inserted
,
press
TAP E.
