3 Press MODE OFF.
The audio emphasis is now set.
For the customers in the C.1.S.
You can change the display by pressing
DISPLAY button on the unit.
Each time you press the button, the display
changes to show one of the three displays
as follows :
To select the audio emphasis with the
remote commander

Set the TUNER/EQ/CD selector to EQ.
2 Choose the audio emphasis you want by
pressing the numeric buttons.
Chapter 5 : Sound Adjustment
To change the audio emphasis
setting
Repeat the operation above.
To listen to music without any audio
effects
Press EFFECT.
"EFFECT OFF" appears in the display.
This feature can be used when you want to
listen to the music in its pure, unprocessed
state.
You can record sound adjusted using
the sound processing effects
You can use deck B to record the source
currently being played (deck A, tuner, CD,
video, etc.) with a sound effect applied. You
can also mix vocals into the recording
through a microphone.
Note
When recording from a tape in deck A, a
tape recorded with DOLBY NR off should
be used in deck A.
Adjusting the Audio
Emphasis
You can adjust the audio emphasis in the
following two functions:
¢ Graphic equalizer
¢ Surround effect
Adjusting the Sound
You can adjust the sound by raising or
lowering the levels of specific frequency
ranges.
Before operation, first select the audio
emphasis that you want for your basic
sound.
POWER-+ON
1 Press MODE ON twice (or EQ on the
remote commander). "EQUALIZER"
and the equalizer curve appear in the
display.
2 Adjust the sound by pressing CURSOR
CONTROL.
'lorP:
Shifts the frequency range to
be adjusted to the left or to
the right.
Raises or lowers the level of
the frequency range
centering around the flashing
dot.
AorY:
3 Press MODE OFF.
Equalizer curve is now set.
Adjusting the Level of the
Surround Effect
You can enjoy a wide range of effects and
sound by selecting one of four surround
levels (levels 1, 2, 3 and OFF).
Before operation, first select the audio
emphasis that you want for your basic
sound.
POWER—ON
1 Press MODE ON three times (or
SURROUND on the remote
commander).
The current level of the surround effect
appears in the display.
2 Press CURSOR CONTROL towards &
or ¥ to select the level of the surround
effect.
3 Press MODE OFF.
Surround effect level is now set.
