transmit and receive will be supplied by the SECTEL 1500.

Use the following procedure to set the DTE for secure asynchronous com
m u n i c a t i o n .

Load the DTE telecommunication software.
©
Access the portion of software program for setting communication
protocols.
©
Set computer communication protocols to asynchronous.
©
Choose the communication port the DTE uses when transmitting data.
©
Set data rate to 75, 110, 300, 600, 1200, 2400, 4800, or 9600 bps. If
either 4800 or 9600 bps is selected, it is advisable to have the com¬
puter (DTE) configured for CTS flow control. This will guard against
loss of data if the modem should fall back to 2400 bps operation when
communicating with another STU III that can only handle 2400 bps
operation.
If data rates are not identical on both ends of the data link, it is pos¬
sible for an ovenmn error to occur. The message display shows:
