The saw chain has
not been correctly

Insufficient chain lubri‐
cation.

Cause
The battery is too
warm or too cold.
No electrical contact
between charger and
battery.
Remedy
► If 3 LEDs continue to flash red: Do not
use the garden pruner and contact your
STIHL dealer for assistance.
► Remove the battery.
► Allow garden pruner to cool down.
► Remove the battery.
► Clean electrical contacts in the battery
compartment.
► Insert battery.
► Switching on the garden pruner
► If 4 LEDs continue to flash red: Do not
use the battery; contact a STIHL author‐
ized dealer.
► Remove the battery.
► Clean electrical contacts in the battery
compartment.
► Insert battery.
► Allow the garden pruner or battery to dry,

► Clean the garden pruner,
► Remove the battery.
► Allow garden pruner to cool down.
► Remove battery and reinsert it.
► Switching on the garden pruner
► Charge the battery.
► Sharpen chain as specified.
► Tension the saw chain as specified.
► Lubricate the saw chain.
► Fully charge the battery.
► Replace the battery.
Remedy
► Leave battery inserted in charger.
Charging starts automatically as soon as
the permitted temperature range is
reached.
► Remove the battery.
► Clean contacts on charger.
► Insert battery.
