Installation and Operation

Option Board (BD-65) Installation
The ECR-65*0 series allows for an increase in the
system memory by using an optional memory
board (BD-65). Refer to the Exploded Diagram
when disassembling and reassembling this ECR.
Use the following instruction when installing this
optional board.
1.
Disconnect the ECR from the external power
outlet.
2.
Lift off the Printer Cover.
3.
Remove three screws (C2, C3 and C4) on
Upper Case and lift it up.
4.
Remove connectors from the red and the white
connectors on Main PCB.
Remove Upper Case and Key-Board .
If you will be connecting optional equipment
through the Option Board (barcode reader or
computer) insert cable connector through the
channel in the back of ECR.
7. Insert desired number of RAM chips (1Mbit
each) in connectors on Option Board. If not
installing a full complement of chips, be sure to
insert them in the order shown in Figure 3-13.
8.
Position Option Board over connector CNI on
Main PCB and carefully press connector on
Option Board down to firmly seat it.
9.
Insert three screws in the corners to secure
Option Board in place.

If desired, attach cable connector from
peripheral equipment to Serial Port 3 or 4 on
Option Board.
Replace the connections at the red and the
white connector on the Main PCB.
Reposition Upper Case and Key-Board on
Lower Case and replace three screws at C2, C3
and C4.
. Replace the Printer Cover.
14.
Re-connect the ECR to the power outlet.
