H Operation of Dolby Surround playback
When playing a video software program carrying "QQ
SURROUND" mark, use the following procedure to ob-
tain similar Dolby Surround effect to movie theaters.
2 Select the center mode.

NORMAL
@ Use this mode with a center speaker of a compact size.
® This improvs the sound positioning of medium and high-
er frequencies.
@ Use this mode when the optional CS-7 center speaker
is used.
WIDE
@ Use this mode wit a center speaker of a medium or farg-
er size.
@ This improves the sound
positioning ail over the fre-
quency range.
@ if you cannot identify whether your center speaker ts of
the medium or compact size, try both the NORMAL and
WIDE
mode and use the one that can
provide better
sound positioning.
PHANTOM
@ Use this mode when the center speaker is not used.
@ Even
without
the center
speaker,
the signal is pro-
cessed in a simulated manner to ensure proper center
image positioning and provide the enjoyment of Dolby
Surround.
C-OFF
@ Tums the center speaker sound off.
