Chain wear is not always even, so you should repeat this measurement at
different chain positions.

If the bottom edge of the chain bolt is in line with or below the chain sliding
guard:
Change the chain sliding guard.
Check that the chain sliding guard is firmly seated.

Tighten the chain sliding guard.
