Onthe battery chargerand the batteries
On the battery charger
• Do not cllm'ge any other batteries excepl Sony
Nickel-Metal Hydride batteries in tile battery
charger supplied with your cmncra. If you try to
charge any other type oI battery (e.g.,
manganese balteries, alkaline dW cells, primary
lithiuzn batteries, or Ni-Cd batteries) lhan file
balteries specified, those batteries may leak,
overheat, or explode, causing file danger of
burns or other iJ_iuries.
• Rcnlove file charged batteries fi-on3 tile battery
charger. If you keep chalging them, there is a
danger of leaks, excessive Ileal. exl)loskms, or
electric shock.
• When charging i_high capacily baltery other
titan the supplied battery using the supplied
battery charger, file fidl capacity of file bauel T
may not be available.
• When the CHARGE lamp flashes, this may
indicate a batte W error or that batteries other
than the specified type have been inserted.
Check that the batleries are file specified lype. 11

the batteries, replace tllenl with new ones or

OnNickel-Metal H ydride batteries
• Do not peel oil tile external seals or damage tile
batteries. Nmer use batteries trom which tile
seals have been partially or completely
removed, or balteries that have been split in ally
way. These may cause let_kage, explosion, or
heal-up of the battery, and personal scald or
injury may be caused. These may cause a
malfimclion of the battery charger.
• Always car W file Nickel-Metal Hidride batteries

• If tile poles of file Nickel-Metal Hydride
batleries are dirty, tile batteries nlay not charge
properly. Wipe lllem with a dlT clolh, etc.
• AI the linle of purchase, or when the Nickel-
Melal Hydrkle balteries have not been used lbr a
long time, they may not lull clmrge. This is
typical of lhis type of baltery, and is not a
malflmclion. If lhis happens, repeatedly using
up the baaeries fiflly, and lhen rechalging them
should conect the problem.
• If you recharge Nickel-Melal Hydride batteries
betom Ihlly using up lhe existing charge, file
low baaery warning may be displayed sooner
than expected. This is called file "memory
etlcct?'* If this problem occurs, chalging file
batleries only after using up the existing chalge
will correct il.

Effective use of Nickel-Metal Hydride
batteries
• Batteries arc discharged e_en when they are not

just betore using them.

battery longer, we recommend you keep file
battery in ils case ill a pockel ch)se lo your body
to warm it, and insert it in your camera jusl
belore you start shooting.
