Typesof "Memory Stick" that can be

The IC recording medium used by this
camera is a "Memory Stick". There are two
types of "Memory Stick".
• "Menlo] T Stick": you can use a "Menlory Slick"
wilh yo/ir Callleril.
• "Melno W Stick Duo": you can use a "Menlo W
Slick Duo" by' inserting il into a Memo_ Stick
Duo Adapto_

• Charge both o1 the supplied Ni-MH batleries

• Tfie baneries can be chalged even iftfiey are nol
conlpletely discharged. Also. even if batteries
are not tully charged, you can use the partially
charged capacity of tile batteries as is,

remove thelll lrOlll your camera, then store tbenl
in a cool, dlT place. This is Iv) nlaintain the

wllicll is capable of reproducing shmp images
with excellent conlrast.
The lens lot this camera tlas been produced under
a quality assurance syslem certified by Carl Zeiss
ill accoMance with lfie qualily standards of Carl
Zeiss in Germany.

Back up recommendation
• To avoid the potential risk o1 data loss, always
copy (back up) data tit oilier medium.
Back up of the internal memory
• If you turn (tit tile power by opening tile battelT/
"Menlory Stick cover, etc. during tile access
lamp is lit, the data in the inlernal nlenlory inay
be corrupted. Be sure 1o back up the data to
awdd tile potential risk of dala loss. See page 23
on how 1o back up llle dala.
Notes on
recording/playback
• This camera is neilller dust-proof, nor splash-
proot, nor witter-proot. Read _ Prec_nltions _
(p*,ge 93) belorc operaling ltle canlel'a.
• Belore yoll record one-lhne events, make a trial
recording to make sure t]lal die canlera is
working correctly.
• Be carefid not 1o get tile camera wet. Waler
enlering the inside of llle camera nlay cause
nlldlhnctions which in some ct_ses nlay nol be
repairable.
• Do nol ainl lhe camera at the sun or other bright
ligllt. This nlay cause irrecoverable danlage to
your eyes. Or il may cause tile malflmclion of
your camera.
• Do not use tile canlera ileal: a localioll that
generales strong radio wiwes or enlils radiation.
The camera may not be able to record or play
back properly.
• Using the camera ill sandy or dusly locations
nlay cause mall/incfions.
• If moisture condensalion occllrs, l_2move il
before using tile camera (page 93).
• Do not stlake or strike the canlera. In addilion to
nlalflmctions and an inabilily 1o rccord images,

or cause image data breakdown, damage or loss.
