Rechargeable Nickel-Metal-Hydride Battery

This equipment contains a rechargeable Nickel-Metal-

    Metal and reinforced concrete may affect cordless telephone performance. Installing the Rechargeable Battery Use only the Uniden BT-446 rechargeable battery pack supplied with your cordless telephone. Follow the steps below to install a battery: 1) Press in on the handset battery case cover (use the finger indention for a better grip) and slide the cover downward to remove.

    4) Make sure that the charge LED illuminates. If the LED does not illuminate, check to see that the AC adapter is plugged in and the handset makes good contact with the base charging contacts. 5) Charge your handset at least 15-20 hours before plugging into the phone line. {ILLUSTRATION} Installing the Belt Clip 1) Line up the holes on each side of the handset.

    1) Press the MENU soft key. Select the HANDSET SETUP, and then the HANDSET LANGUAGE submenu. 2) Move the cursor to choose ENGLISH, FRANÇAIS (French), or ESPAÑOL (Spanish). 3) Press the OK soft key.     Charge the Accessory Handset The handset is powered by a rechargeable battery pack. The battery recharges automatically when the handset is placed in the charger. 1) Connect the AC adapter to the DC IN 9V jack and to a standard 120V AC wall outlet. 2) Set the charger on a desk or tabletop, and place the handset in the charger with the keypad facing forward.

    3) ARE YOU SURE? appears. Move the cursor to select YES. Press the OK soft key. Setting up the Phonebook Your phone allows you to store up to 2 numbers per name and up to 100 names in your phonebook. Your phone shares memory between your phonebook and CID entries.

    Phonebook entries are stored in alphabetical order. To scroll through the phonebook, press and then press [up] or [down] on four-way function key. Press and hold [up] or [down] on four-way function key to scroll through the display quickly. When viewing the phonebook entry, use the [ ] soft key [right] on four-way function key to display the DIAL NUMBER 2.

    Using Special Features Muting the Ringer (One Call Only) While a handset is ringing, press or the MUTE soft key on the handset to mute the ringer for this call. The phone will ring again normally on the next call. (The handset must be off the cradle to mute the ringer.) Muting the Microphone Mute turns off the microphone so the caller can not hear you.
